Objective: Disease perception, which plays an important role in the treatment process and following health instructions, is influenced by various psychological factors.. The aim of this study was to investigate the mediating role of coping strategies in the relationship between personality traits and family functioning with perception of the disease in multiple sclerosis (MS) patients. Method: The method of this study was descriptive with a correlational design based on path analysis and statistical population of all patients with with multiple sclerosis disease referred to the offices of neurologists and Kashani Hospital in Shahrekord in 2020, from which 250 people were selected by purposive sampling method. Data collection tools included Bradbent et al.'s Awareness Questionnaire, Neo Personality Traits Questionnaire, Bishop and Baldwin Family Performance Scale, and Lazarus and Folkman Coping Strategies Questionnaire. Data were analyzed using SPSS-24 and Amos-19 software and path analysis. Findings: The results showed that the research model has a good fit. The results also showed that coping strategies in the relationship between neuroticism, conscientiousness, agreement, Openness, extroversion and family functioning play a mediating role in the perception of the disease. Conclusion: Family performance and personality traits can lead to a better perception of the disease for the individual with positive effects on the adoption of effective coping strategies.

Objective: type II diabetes is one of the chronic illnesses with various physical and psychological effects for patient. The purpose of the present research was to study the effectiveness of coping therapy on psychological markers (Stress, quality of life and coping strategies) in type II diabetic patients. Method: It was a semi-experimental research with pre-test, post-test, control group and follow up test. The population of the research includes all diabetic patients with registered medical records in diabetes center of Kermanshah in 2016. 40 individuals were selected by available and random sampling in experimental and control group (20 individuals per group). They have completed coping strategies questionnaire of Folkman- Lazarous, family life incidents and changes (FILE) and short form of diabetic patients' quality of life (DQOL-BCI). Findings: Data was analyzed by SPSS-20 and the results showed that coping therapy significantly increases the quality of life, adhere to treatment, coping strategies, social support, planned problem-solving, positive reevaluation, stress reduction and continence in experimental group than control group (p<0.01, p<0.05). however, the results indicated that there is no significant difference in the variable of escape-avoidance coping strategies between experimental and control group (p>0.05). Conclusion: according to the results, it can be said that coping strategies may reduce the problems of patients with chronic illnesses such as diabetes.

Objective: Patients with type 2 diabetes had low levels of associated psychological well-being, which may exacerbate their symptoms. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between psychological hardiness, sense of cohesion, and coping strategies with psychological well-being in patients with type 2diabetes. Method: In this descriptive-correlational study, 120 patients with type 2 diabetic who referred to the diabetes clinic of Imam Khomeini Hospital in Ardabil in the first half of 2019 were selected as the target sample and evaluated. Data collection tools consisted of Psychological Well-being Scale (Ryff, 1989), Hardiness (Kobasa, 1979), 13-item Cohesion Sense Questionnaire (Antonovsky, 1987), and Coping Strategies (Lazarus & Folkman, 1985). Data analysis was performed using Pearson correlation coefficient and regression analysis. Findings: There were a positive and significant relationship between the psychological well-being of patients with type 2 diabetes with psychological hardiness (β=0/36: p<0/001), sense of cohesion (β=0/53: p<0/003), and problem-based coping strategy (β=0/12: p<0/03), and negative and significant relationship with emotion-based coping strategy (β=-0/43: p<0/001). Psychological hardiness, sense of cohesion, and coping strategies predicted 76% of the variance in psychological well-Being scores of patients with type 2 diabetes (p<0/01). Conclusion:According to the findings, psychological hardiness, sense of cohesion, and coping strategies are associated with the psychological well-being of patients with type 2 diabetes and can explain one's attitude toward illness. Therefore, educating patients to empower them in these areas is recommended.

Objective: The aim of this research was predicting pain acceptance based on perceived stress and coping strategies in individuals with rheumatoid arthritis. Method: The current research method was correlation. The statistical population was all patients with rheumatoid arthritis who referred to rheumatology centers of districts 2,3,5,6,7,18 of Tehran city in 1396 that 214 of them, based on the Kerjcie and Morgan table (1970) and using the available sampling method, were selected as statistical samples, but 210 patients remained as the final sample. The data for the research were collected through Perceived Stress Scale by Cohen, Kamarak and Mermelstein (1983), Coping Inventory for Stressful Situations by Calsbeek, Mieke, Dekker, and Henegouwen (2002) and Chronic Pain Acceptance Questionnaire by McCracken, Wolves and Eccleston (2004) and analyzed by using multiple regression method. Results: The results showed that perceived stress (β=-0.13, p=0.001), emotion-oriented strategy(β=-0.16, p=0.001) and avoidant strategy(β=-0.21, p=0.001 negatively and significantly and problem-oriented strategy (β=0.58, p=0.001) positively and significantly can predict pain acceptance. Conclusion: Overall, the results showed that perceived stress and coping strategies can be used to control the pain of patients with rheumatoid arthritis

Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between defense mechanisms and adaptation strategies on psychological well-being of patients with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome in Shiraz. Method: The design was a correlative study. Samples of 80 patients aged 18 to 40 years, at least primary school level and also in the final stages of life were selected. This study using psychological well-being questionnaires, defense mechanisms and coping strategies were evaluated. For data analysis, stepwise regression and correlation coefficient were used. Objective: According to psycho-social factors are effective on appearance and progression of heart disease, this study performed with the purpose of comparison tolerance of ambiguity, psychological capital and coping strategies in cardiac patients and health people. Methods: The design study was descriptive-causal comparative. The statistical population includes all heart patients and healthy people, 20 to 80 years old from Tabriz city in 2014 year that among them, 50 patients and 50 healthy individual who were matched with respect to demographic characteristics were selected by available sampling method. They answered questionnaires of tolerance of ambiguity (Rydell & Rosen's, 1990), psychological capital (Luthans & et al, 2007) and coping strategies (Andler & Parker, 1990). Results: The results of multivariate analysis of variance have been showed mean of problem focused coping strategy (F=4/07), psychological capital (F=7/35), self-efficacy (F=5/67) and resiliency (F=4/47) in heart patient are significantly less than healthy people and mean of emotion focused coping strategy (F=4/78) and intolerance of ambiguity (F=11/17) in heart patient are significantly more than healthy people but significant different wasn't found in components of hope (F=3/68) and optimism (F=3/49). Conclusion: The results of this research intolerance of ambiguity and psychological capital in heart patient are significantly less than healthy people and this patient use emotion focused coping strategy further for coping with stress.

Objective: The aim of article was to study the coping strategies and attachment stylesin individuals with gender identity disorder and without it.Method: The research was a causal-comparative study. The society of the studyincluded all individuals with or without Gender identity disorder in Tehran. 60individuals were selected through available sampling method, 30 individuals withsexual identity disorder and 30 individuals without it; which had been matched byage, educational and social levels. They were handed to fill the coping strategiesinventory of Carver, Scheier and Weintraub (1989) and Revised AdultAttachment Scale. In analysis of data analysis and t test are applied.Results: Results indicated that insecure attachment style is more common amongindividuals with gender identity disorder than others without it, and they useemotion focused coping strategies than others without it.Conclusion: According to the results, attachment styles affect adult relationships,mental health and coping strategies.

Abstract
Aim: The aim of present study was to investigate the relationship between the pain catastrophizing, pain-related anxiety, social support, coping strategies and neuroticism, with functional disability in Rheumatic patients, in Ahvaz-Iran.
Method: The sample Contained 151 participants who selected via available sample method and completed Pain Catastrophizing Scale (PCS), Pain Anxiety Symptoms Scale (PASS-20), subscale of neuroticism from Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (EPQ-R) Arthritis Impact Measurement Scales (AIMS2), and Coping strategies Questionnaire. Functional status were assessed using the three-Factor Model of the Arthritis Impact Scale, 2nd ed., (AIMS2).
Results: The result of a multiple regression analysis showed that pain catastrophizing, pain-related anxiety, social support, coping strategies and neuroticism were able to explain 39% of the variance in the AIMS2. The result of multiple regression analysis with stepwise method indicated that pain catastrophizing, neuroticism, social support and one of coping strategies were variables that entered in the model, respectively. Thesesvariables accounted for 38% of the variance in functional disability.
Conclusion: The present results support the hypothesized role of psychosocial variables in predicting Functional status in Rheumatic patients.
