Objective: The aim of this study was to compare the effectiveness of emotion regulation- focused cognitive-behavior therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) on backache symptoms, depression and life satisfaction in women suffering from chronic backache with comorbid major depressive disorder (MDD).Method: This study was a quasi-experimental research conducted in the form of pretest-posttest with control group. 30 women with chronic backache and comorbid MDD were selected and were included randomly in two experimental groups (n=20) and one control group (n=10). One experimental group received the emotion regulation-focused CBT and another experimental group received the ACT, with control group on a waiting list. Participants completed the McGill Pain Questionnaire, Beck Depression Inventory-II (BDI-II) and Life Satisfaction Questionnaire in the pretest and posttest. The data were analyzed using multi-variable covariance analysis. Results: The Emotion regulation-focused CBT and the ACT reduced backache symptoms and depression, and increased life satisfaction. Conclusion: the results showed no significant differences between the two therapies.

Objective: The aim of this study was to Compare the effectiveness of cognitive therapy Based on meta-theoretical models and meta-cognitive therapy on amount pain and Thoughts Fusion in patients suffering from chronic pain in broken who were referred to medical centers in broken and diagnosis of chronic pain. Method: In this semi-experimental study with pretest-posttest control group design was used.105 people who were given a diagnosis of about them, were assigned to two experimental and control groups.this study was used to analyze the data from the test MANCOVA. Results: Results showed that meta-cognitive therapy and cognitive therapy Based on meta-theoretical models in reducing amount pain and Thoughts Fusion In patients suffering from chronic pain were significantly effective. Conclusion: The results revealed that meta-cognitive therapy focuses on the challenge and cognitive therapy Based on meta-theoretical models focuses on the change process to create positive change and appropriate in patients with chronic pain used.

Objective:There is evidence of a relationship between mind and body about pain. The aim of this study was to study the structural relations among chronic pain, mindfulness and behavioral activation and inhibition systems.Method:The present research is descriptive-correlative, retrospective, and cross-sectional.In this research from 300 students, 166 students with chronic pain from the Payam-E-Noor University of Tehran were selected by voluntary and available sampling. McGill pain questionnaire, and five-facet mindfulness scale and behavioral activation and inhibition systems scale were used as research tools for data collection.Data were analyzed using correlation and structural equation. Results:The results showed that the hypothesized model fit is good and acceptable. Behavioral Activation System has a direct and negative effect on pain) β=0/38) and behavioral inhibition system direct and positive effect on pain) β=0/36). The Behavioral Activation System through the mediation of mindfulness has an indirect effect on pain and behavioral inhibition system through mindfulness has an indirect effect on pain. Conclusion: It can be concluded that behavioral activation and inhibition systems and mindfulness important determinants of pain.

Introduction: Severe pain caused by natural vaginal delivery makes it less popular however physical and psychological side effects are less than cesarean. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between the subscales of the quality of relations and vaginal delivery. Methods: This descriptive study was done on 80 women who delivered children naturally, in 1394-1395. data was collected by the quality of relationships Pierce questionnaire (QRI) and short form McGill pain and analyzed by the stepwise multiple regression. Results: The results showed that the relationship between the quality of the relationship and labor pain intensity was meaningful (p <0/0001). In this way, the conflict between the individual subscales of pain intensity predicts 16 % (p<0/0001). By entering this variable, perceived social support was increased 5%. In between the subscales of social support (parents, spouse, friends), interpersonal conflict (parents, spouse, friends) and depth of relationships (parents, spouse, friends) after entering each Separate model, perceived social support from husband (p <0/0001) interpersonal conflicts husband )p <0/0001(and depth of relationship with her husband )p <0/01(, was meaningful. Conclusion: According to the results; to reduce the pain of natural childbirth, In addition to other interventions, psychological and social variables such as strengthen socail networks and reducing marital conflict should be considered.

Objective: The present study was conducted to investigate the relationship between alexithymia and quality of life in patients with clinical pain complain and healthy people. Method: The study sample consists of 200 participants (100 patients with pain complain and 100 healthy people between 18-60 years old) which were selected at convenience. Data were collected by the Toronto Alexithymia Scale (TAS-20) and the 36-Item Short-Form Health Survey (SF36) and analyzed by independent samples t test, Pearson moment correlation method and Enter regression. Findings: Based on the findings, the two groups of patients and healthy participants were significantly different both in alexithymia scale and quality of life. Also correlation between alexithymia and quality of life in patients was stronger, particularly in difficulties describing emotions and external-oriented thinking subscales. Conclusion Results showed that pain causes strong relationship between alexithymia and quality of life; and the mental aspect of quality of life is more affected by alexithymia than others

Objective:Dressing change is a routine care practiced for burn patients, which due to the skin injury of patients, can be associated with severe pain. In spite of drug intervention, 75% of adult patients with burn have to tolerate severe pain in this process. The results of studies suggest that non-pharmaceutical methods such as hypnosis can help pain management in burn patients beside drug treatments. Thus, this study seeks to explore the effectiveness of hypnosis in relieving pain associated with burn dressing change. Method: In this study, 30 patients with second-degree burn hospitalized in Imam Reza Hospital of Mashhad, were assigned to two experiment and control groups. Both groups received the same drugs, and the pain scores were estimated by a Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) before and after dress change. The experiment group was put under analgesic hypnosis during dressing change. The data were recorded for a week and mean and standard deviation were used for data description, and covariance analysis and significant level (p< 0/01) were used for data analysis. Findings:The findings indicate a significant difference between the results of pretest and posttest group in the experiment group. The same significant difference was also observed in the results of posttest in the experiment and control groups as well. However, there was not any significant difference between pretest results of the control and experiment groups or the pretest and posttest results of the control group. Conclusion:The results suggest the efficacy of hypnosis in reducing pain associated with burn dressing change

Objective: Breast cancer can cause of many problems in physical, mental and social performance, including pain and can cause reduced quality of life. The aim of this study is the effect of coping skills training program on pain and quality of life in breast cancer patients residing in the city of Dezful. Method: Method of this study is a quasi-experimental research design with pretest - posttest control group. During an informal invitation 34 patients were enrolled in the study were eligible. The patients were randomly divided into experiment and control groups (each group include 17 subjects). Experiment group were received 8 sessions 1.5 h weekly of coping skills program (Lazaruss, Folkman, 1984). Participants completed brief pain questionnaire (BPI) and quality of life questionnaire (European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC)) before and after starting the program. Findings: The results of the descriptive analysis showed that experimental group have better in global quality of life and its dimensions, also experiment group reduced in both severity pain and interference in daily functioning than the control group. Conclusion: MANCOVA analysis demonstrates that coping training caused enhancement of quality of life and diminish the pain in experiment group.
