Objective: The present study aims to compare irrational beliefs, self-efficacy, and psychological well-being in healthy individuals and patients with migraine headaches. This study is a cross-sectional-comparative post event. Method: The statistical universe of this research includes all men and women suffering from migraine headaches, and all healthy men and women in Ardabil in 1390 (A.H). The subjects were 30 patients suffering from migraine headaches referred to psychological, neurological, and brain clinics selected by convenience sampling method, as well as 30 healthy people selected by cloning method (based on age, education level, and social-economic status). To collect data, the questionnaires of irrational beliefs, self-efficacy, and psychological well-being were used. Result: The results of multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) and correlational coefficient showed that there was a significant difference between the two groups "Migraine sufferers and Healthy people" in terms of three variables of "self-efficacy, irrational beliefs, and psychological well-being" in the level of P≥0.01. Conclusion: The results showed that most psychological problems had their roots in irrational thoughts and beliefs about self, others and the world around. In other words, irrational beliefs in migraine patients cause stress and anxiety in their life, and much more difficulties in matters concerning life.

Objective: The aim of the present research was to investigate the mediating role of depression in relation between attachment and parenting style with overweight and obesity of girls adolescent. Method: This research method is descriptive and the population was all the students between ages 14-17 in the 92-93 education year in Tehran that 440 students chose according to cluster sampling. They took seven tests (Depression, Baum rind parenting style and Attachment). Data was analyzed through Pearson's correlation, path analysis and structural equation model. Result: Research findings indicate that there is positive correlation between emotional eating style and obesity and negative correlation between depression and obesity. There is an indirect relationship between Reactionary parenting style and obesity. The results of path analysis indicate that emotional eating is a mediator variant between parenting style, anxiety and depression with obesity and overweight and self-esteem is a mediator variant between parenting style with obesity. Conclusion: Research findings support that there are infrastructural and psychological mechanisms in creating obesity and overweight in girls adolescent. Therefore concern to above variants, help researchers and psychologist to prevent and make suitable treatments.

Objective: Cancer is one of the most common diseases in different societies. The purpose of the present research was to study effectiveness of behavior regulation training on anxiety reduction among women with breast cancer. Method: To do this study, in a semi experimental research, with pretest-posttest design, by control group, 30 women with breast cancer of Cancer Research Center of Shohadaye Tajrish Hospital were accessibly selected and randomly placed in the experimental and control groups. At the beginning and end of the study, subjects were tested by the Beck Anxiety Inventory (Beck & Clark, 1988). The experimental group learned behavior regulation techniques (Lotfi Kashani, Vaziri, 2005) in 8, 90- minute group sessions. Data were analyzed using analysis of covariance. Results: covariance analysis of anxiety scores in the experimental and control groups showed a significant decrease in anxiety of the experimental group by keeping the score changes constantly (p

Objective: The present study examined role of coping styles and personality traits in eating- disordered behaviors. Method: 331 students from Tehran university, were randomly selected using cluster sampling method. All participants filled out eating attitudes test (EAT-26), Ways of coping Questionnaire (WOCQ) and Five Factor Personality Inventory (NEO-FFI). Length, weight and body mass index were measured. Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation coefficient, and multivariate regression. Results: The results revealed significant correlations between eating- disordered behaviors and Emotion-oriented coping, Task-orientated coping, agreeableness, neuroticism and Conscientiousness Personality traits. Multivariate regression data revealed that Emotion-oriented coping, Conscientiousness and agreeableness Personality traits might explain 17.5% of eating- disordered behaviors variance. Conclusion: Findings suggested that individuals develop eating-disordered behaviors as a means of encounter with problems, resulting on interaction between coping styles and personality traits

Objective: Although evidence suggests that pain catastrophizing and marital satisfaction are associated with chronic pain patient’s depression but whether this association remains significant after controlling for other variables, has not yet been studied. The aim of this study was to investigate the role of pain catastrophizing and marital satisfaction in predicting patient’s depression after controlling for severity of pain, fear of pain and pain-related disability. Methods: In a cross - correlation proposal among patients who had referred to orthopedic clinic and regarding to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 121 patients were selected. They were asked to answer the visual pain scale, pain catastrophizing scale, fear of movement, pain-related disability, depression and marital satisfaction questionnaire. Results: Data analysis showed a significant negative correlation between marital satisfaction and depression. Also pain catastrophizing, fear of pain and disability were positively correlated with depression. In regression analysis, catastrophizing and marital satisfaction predicted patient’s depression beyond the effect of pain intensity, fear of pain and pain-related disability. Conclusion: Considering that lower marital satisfaction and catastrophic thoughts predict depression in chronic pain patients, using cognitive strategies to reduce catastrophic thoughts and couple therapy approaches to increase their marital satisfaction seems to be beneficial in reducing patient’s depressive symptoms

Method: In this descriptive study, 50 women with normal weight and 50 obese women with accessible method were selected. Research Tools was the Barratt Impulsiveness questionnaire and reproduction method to measure time perception time. Result: Motor impulsiveness prospected time perception to be negative. Between obese and normal weight subjects did not show significant differences in impulsiveness and perception of time, but Were dispersed time perception scores in obese patients, results are discussed. Conclusion: Different prior researches results, various methods of measuring impulsivity, the time perception and different classes of obesity, it is suggested, further research in this area should be conducted according to all methods of measurement .

Objective: Antisocial personality disorder (ASPD) is the most common comorbid disorder with substance dependency disorders, especially heroin among identified psychiatric disorders and ASPD predicts weak outcomes in treatment of substance dependency disorders. Purpose of this study is was to examine the efficacy of dual focus schema therapy on reduction of severity of dependency in antisocial personality disordered opioid dependent men. Method: Three antisocial personality disordered opioid dependent men were selected using Millon Clinical Multiaxial Inventory (MCMI-III) and Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-IV (SCID) based on disorders axis II and purposeful sampling. Multiple baseline experimental single case study was used as the method of the present study. The treatment program was carried out for 24 week and 28 sessions, with a follow-up period of 3 months subsequent to treatment termination. Subjects completed Severity of Dependence Scale (SDS) and Young Schema Questionnaire (YSQ-SF). Results: Results showed that dual focus schema therapy is significantly effective on reduction of severity of psychological dependency and primary maladaptive schemas. Conclusion: Dual focus schema therapy has appropriate efficacy on reduction of severity of dependency in antisocial personality disordered opioid dependent men.

Objective: The main purpose of the present study was to investigate psychometric properties of the Brief Religious Coping Scale (BRCS, Pargament, Koenig & Perez, 2000) among male and female cancer patients. 155 cancer patients (119 female, 36 male) completed the Brief Religious Coping Scale. Method: The exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis methods and internal consistency coefficients were used to compute the BRCS's factorial validity and reliability, respectively. Results: The results of principal component analysis (PC) with varimax rotation replicated 2-factor structure of positive and negative religious coping strategies for cancer patients. Goodness-of-fit indices of confirmatory factor analysis confirmed the 2 extracted factors. Internal consistency coefficients for positive and negative religious coping strategies were 0/85 and 0/80, respectively. Conclusion: In sum, BRCS appears to be a good instrument that does what it was intended to do: assess religious methods of coping in an efficient, psychometrically sound, and theoretically meaningful manner
